Systems Administrator

• Master / Bachelor (Four Years) Degree in IT Related Fieldfrom a reputable university
• Professional certifications desirable
• 2-3 years of working experience in Systems Administration & IT Operations
• SAP Systems Administration experience will be preferred

Job Description

The Systems Administrator is responsible for ensuring the effective operation of the systems environment through managing the technical hardware aspects of the platform and operating system. The Systems Administrator plays an integral role by:

• Developing hardware and technical infrastructure strategy.
• Developing technical aspects of implementation plans for new releases, including testing.
• Analyzing, developing solutions, and resolving performance issues using internal resources and parts and outside vendors to minimize or eliminate operational downtime.
• Participating in upgrade and maintenance project teams to provide information on technical impacts and requirements, hardware requirements, release strategy, and perform required hardware modifications.
• Assisting in troubleshooting security issues, such as authorizations, group profiles, SAP user IDs; SAP Systems Administration and developing and improving security procedures.
• Leading community of practice for process areas by developing and implementing plans to build knowledge in these areas.
• Making proposals regarding timing for upgrades and refreshes, and receives guidance from Operations Team Leader and Business Process team leader in minimizing the impact on business operations
• Working knowledge of Lotus Notes
• Hands-on experience on installation/troubleshooting the network hardware (Cables, Switches, network cards etc.)
• Hands-on experience on installation/troubleshooting of computers, printers, operating systems and software applications
  
• Apart from the regular administration (user setup, backup, etc.), should be familiar with web servers Intranet setup and Proxy Servers.
• Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks. Identify approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale
• Play a key role in developing and implementing an IT disaster recovery/business continuity plan
• Maintain logs related to network functions, as well as maintenance and repair records.
